Conway Regional is proud to recognize Ryan Kordsmeier, BSN, RN, as the latest recipient of the DAISY Award.

Ryan was nominated by the family of a patient he cared for during a difficult ICU stay. Their nomination described the compassion, patience, and personal connection Ryan provided during a challenging time for both the patient and family.

According to the nomination, Ryan took the time to truly know the patient beyond his diagnosis. Through meaningful conversations and genuine interest, he built trust and created a sense of comfort that helped ease fear and frustration during recovery. Even after the patient was discharged and later readmitted, Ryan continued to check in and offer encouragement.

The family shared that Ryan’s impact extended far beyond medical care. His kindness, consistency, and compassion helped the patient feel seen, respected, and understood throughout the recovery journey.

“This nurse embodies genuine connection and compassion,” the nomination stated. “His compassion didn’t just improve my dad’s hospital stay; it changed the trajectory of his recovery.”

The DAISY Award recognizes nurses who go above and beyond in providing exceptional clinical care and compassionate service to patients and families. Ryan’s nomination reflected the meaningful difference nurses can make through both clinical excellence and human connection.
