Patient Care Tech’s Personalized Care Earns Her the BEE Award
In her nomination story, Tiffany Lucas is described as an “amazing tech” who personalizes care for her patients using their favorite music and doing make-shift spa treatments.

Tiffany Lucas, a patient care tech on the Telemetry Unit, has received the BEE award.
The BEE award was developed at Conway Regional to celebrate non-nursing staff for excellent care and service. It complements the DAISY award for nurses.
In her nomination story, Tiffany is described as an “amazing tech” who personalizes care for her patients using their favorite music and doing make-shift spa treatments. She purchased coloring books for one patient and cried with another patient “holding their hand when they passed so they wouldn’t be alone.”
Tiffany goes above and beyond for everyone around her, including her peers. She made a Christmas photo booth to boost morale at the medical center. Tiffany left the booth on her home unit and asked others to take it throughout the hospital so it could be enjoyed over the holiday season. Employees took photos of themselves in the photo booth and shared it with others as they celebrated.
The BEE award stands for “Be Exceptional Every Day” and it includes a reserved parking spot, a stone statuette called the Healer’s Touch, and cinnamon rolls in honor of J. Patrick Barnes, a patient who died from complications of an autoimmune disease in 1999. The international DAISY Award was set up by Barnes’ family to officially recognize nurses who show great compassion and provide exemplary care.
All nominations for the BEE, DAISY and the HIVE leadership award are anonymous and the award is presented based on the patient care story submitted. Nomination forms are available throughout the medical center and online at https://www.conwayregional.org/patients-visitors/patients/employee-recognition
