Creating Opportunities Through Education

Healthcare begins long before a patient walks through our doors. It begins with a student pursuing nursing, a resident physician choosing to stay in Arkansas, or an employee returning to school to advance their career. Too often, the cost of education stands in the way. Scholarships help remove that barrier, making it possible for more healthcare professionals to learn, serve, and care for our communities.

  • More than half of Arkansans live in areas experiencing healthcare workforce shortages.

  • 59 Arkansas counties are designated as medically underserved.

  • 35% of Arkansas physicians are age 60 or older and nearing retirement.

  • Arkansas is producing only 76% of the nurses needed to meet today's workforce demand.

Too often, financial barriers stand between talented people and the education they need.

The CARE Initiative exists to remove those barriers.

Celebrating new endowed scholarships through the CARE Initiative

Thank you donors for your commitment to changing lives through education.

Established in 2001 and fully endowed in 2025 in support of the CARE Initiative by the Conway Regional Medical Staff, this scholarship supports the next generation of physicians by providing annual scholarships for up to four medical students. The scholarship is available to eligible students enrolled in or accepted to an accredited medical school, reflecting the Medical Staff's ongoing commitment to strengthening the future of healthcare in our community.

The Riddle Family Scholarship Fund was established in 2025 by Jeremy and Kristen Riddle in honor of the Riddle family. This scholarship supports full-time graduate students pursuing careers in direct patient care, empowering future healthcare professionals while honoring the family’s lasting legacy of compassion and service. Eligible recipients must be accepted into or enrolled in a graduate-level healthcare program focused on direct patient care, including but not limited to physician, pharmacist, physical therapy, occupational therapy, and advanced practice registered nurse (APRN) pathways.

The Farris Family Endowed Scholarship Fund was established in 2025 to support students pursuing careers in healthcare. This scholarship is awarded to graduates of Faulkner County high schools who are studying radiology or imaging-related fields and are currently enrolled or accepted into a healthcare program. It honors the children and family of Bill and Susan Farris while helping empower the next generation of caregivers.

Established in 2026, this scholarship supports students pursuing a career in nursing. Created to honor the family's legacy, the scholarship encourages future nurses to provide compassionate, direct patient care in a hospital setting. Eligible applicants must be full-time students pursuing an LPN or BSN and be accepted into or enrolled in an accredited nursing program.
The CARE Endowed Scholarship was established in 2026 to celebrate 30 years of Conway Regional Health Foundation’s commitment to education. Founded as part of the CARE Initiative, Creating Access and Resources through Education, it supports students pursuing careers in healthcare, helping remove financial barriers and strengthen the future of care in our community.
