When you live in an area that’s known as the “Duck Hunting Capital of the World” it’s easy to tell when it’s duck season!
Conway Regional Health System is pairing the love of hunting with an awareness campaign for men’s health initiatives and the inaugural Duck Derby takes place this Thursday and Friday, Jan. 10-11. The Duck Derby consists of two events, a banquet and a competitive duck hunt.
Proceeds from the Arkansas Duck Derby will benefit Conway Regional Health System’s program to take men’s health education and screenings to rural areas surrounding Conway that do not have these services available. Proceeds will also go toward guest services for patient families.
The Arkansas Duck Derby Community Banquet will be held at the St. Joseph Church Spiritan Hall, 1115 College Ave., on Thursday, Jan. 10. Doors will open at 5:30 pm. The event is open to the public and is family-friendly.
The banquet will be held at Thursday night and will feature:
- The music of Jocko Deal
- Great raffle prizes for both men and women, including a boat, Polaris Ranger 500, a Banelli shotgun, a loose garnet and custom mount jewelry and a Louis Vuitton bag to name a few.
The highlight of the evening will be the drawing of lots for 25 separate hunting locations.
The hunt will begin in the early hours of Friday morning with check in beginning at 11:30 am and scoring and awards at 1 pm, C2 Powersports, 650 Dave Ward Drive.
