 Lifeline Services Lifeline Services

Most people agree that there is no place like home for recuperation and treatment of illnesses. Often when you least expect it, you need help. Conway Regional's Home Health Services offers comprehensive care for patients at home. The Home Health team includes physicians, nurses, therapists, nursing assistants, secretaries and support staff dedicated to your recovery from illness or disability

When ordered by your physician, Conway Regional HomeCare can arrange for services such as:

  • Nursing, and personal care services

  • Physical, occupational, or rehabilitation therapy

  • Wound/Ostomy care

  • Intravenous (I.V.) therapy

  • Pain management

  • Nutritional services
  • Conway Regional HomeCare services include providing Lifeline units to the elderly or other homebound individuals. The unit includes a button worn on a necklace or bracelet which the patient can push should they need assistance. Medical Center staff is alerted to the problem and can contact individuals on the patient's responder list, such as a neighbor or family member. For an additional fee a Lifeline Timex watch has been developed that can serve as your personal alert button. An ambulance can also be dispatched should the need arise.

The latest HomeCare service is the Well At Home program which benefits patients who need ongoing monitoring of vital signs such as blood pressure, pulse/oxygen, temperature, blood glucose levels and weight. The remote monitoring service is believed to be particularly beneficial for patients with cardiovascular disease, newly-diagnosed diabetes, renal conditions, and other disorders as well as, medical patients who are non-compliant with medication and hard-to-manage, homebound patients.

Well At Home supplements regular visits by the HomeCare staff at no additional cost for the equipment. The equipment is programmed to remind patients to take their medicine and provides instructions on how to check their blood glucose level, blood pressure, pulse/ox and temperature. A specially designed scale can be connected to the monitor for patient weigh-ins. Another device calculates the patient's blood sugar level.

These readings are sent via telephone lines to the HomeCare office where they are monitored. Patients also have access to an on-call nurse who can provide triage over the telephone. If necessary the nurse will visit the patient or call an ambulance to take the patient to the hospital. In the case of non-compliant patients, a pleasant electronic voice asks questions to remind them to take their medicine.

HomeCare professionals are available seven days a week, 24 hours a day. To learn more about Well At Home or any of the other home health services, please call (501)329-9377 or 1-800-264-9666.
