Have the fad diets got you down? Accountability and sound nutritional advice are at the heart of the Conway Regional Health & Fitness Center's Weight Management Support Group.
The Weight Management Support Group, led by a registered dietician, provides support to help you meet and maintain your goals. Meetings include:
- Confidential weigh-ins
- Group discussion led by the nutritionist
- Recipe sharing
- Food diaries are encouraged
This support group meets Wednesdays at 5:15 pm and Thursdays at 12:15 pm in the fitness center classroom. Learn more about getting involved with this group by viewing our flier, or call (501) 450-9292.
Weight Managment Cookbook - NOW AVAILABLE!
Get your Weight Management Cookbook today at the Conway Regional Health & Fitness Center. "Delicious Recipes for Managing your Weight" by Conway Regional Health & Fitness Center's own Kellie Dye, RDLD has been 20 years in the making. The mission of this cookbook is for people to feel positive about food. Here is a sample recipe from the cookbook -
1 tsp. canola or olive oil
½ cup chopped or sliced red onion
½ tsp. dried thyme
4 – 4 oz. boned skinless chicken breast halves
1/3 cup raspberry preserves (seedless)
2 Tbsp. balsamic vinegar
¼ tsp pepper
1 tsp. salt divided
Heat oil, add onion and sauté about 5 minutes. Sprinkle thyme and salt over chicken. Add chicken to skillet and sauté approx. 6 minutes on each side or until done. Remove chicken from skillet. Reduce skillet heat to med-low. Add ¼ tsp salt, raspberry preserves, vinegar and pepper. Stir until blended well into a sauce. Spoon sauce over chicken.
Serves 4. Calories: 223, 21 grams of bar, 3 grams of fat, 359 mg sodium.
