Patient Instructions for Non-Invasive Cardiology Examinations

The location for all non-invasive cardiology testing is Conway Regional Medical Center; enter through the main admissions area in the East Lobby on the same side as the ER.

Rest/Stress Echo
You will need to wear comfortable shoes and clothes to the hospital. Do not eat or drink anything after midnight. If your doctor tells you to take your medicine before the test, do so only with a small sip of water. The length of your procedure will depend on hospital operations.

Transesophageal Echocardiogram
Do not eat or drink anything after midnight. If your doctor tells you to take your medicine before the test, do so only with a small sip of water. The length of your procedure will depend on hospital operations.

Echocardiogram
Plan on being in the hospital 45 minutes to 1 hour.

Bubble Contrast Echo
On arrival you will have an I.V. started. The length of your procedure will depend on hospital operations.

Cardiac Tilt Table
You will need to wear comfortable shoes and clothes to the hospital. Do not eat or drink anything after midnight. If your doctor tells you to take your medicine before the test, do so only with a small sip of water. The length of your procedure will depend on hospital operations.

Holter Monitor
You will not be able to shower or bathe for 24 hours after the testing begins so you might want to shower or bath before testing. Plan on being in the hospital 15 minutes for instructions and placement of the Holter monitor. Some additional time will be required for registration.

Electroencephalogram-Adult (10 yrs and above)
You will need to wash your hair the night before. Do not use any conditioners, oils, mousse, hair spray, etc. It is very important that you get only 4 HOURS of sleep before the test. Please stay awake until midnight and get up at 4:00 A.M. Please eat before the test. Do not have any caffeine - coffee, colas, tea, chocolate, etc. The doctor may give you medicine to make you sleep after you arrive at the hospital. Please bring a list of medicines that you are taking with you.  The test requires approximately 45 minutes to an hour to complete.

Treadmill Stress Test
You will need to wear comfortable shoes and clothes to the hospital.  Do not eat or drink anything after midnight. If your doctor tells you to take your medicine before the test, do so only with a small sip of water. The length of your procedure will depend on hospital operations.

Myoview Stress Test or Presantine Myoview Stress Test
You will need to wear comfortable shoes and clothes to the hospital. Do not eat or drink anything after midnight.  If your doctor tells you to take your medicine before the test, do so only with a small sip of water. The testing can take up to four hours.
