Conway Regional's Diabetes Self-Management Training Program is recognized by the American Diabetes Association. The program includes a diabetes overview, meal planning, medications, exercise, stress management, monitoring and advice about possible complications.

Classes are open to anyone who suffers from Type 1 or Type 2 diabetes, diabetic veterans, anyone with a change in their diabetic management, anyone with new onset diabetes as well as any family members or caregivers of diabetic patients. Discuss this class with your doctor to see if you are a candidate.
Classes are taught by a certified diabetes educator, diabetes education nurses and registered dietitians. Guest speakers are also provided. Patients who are interested in attending diabetes education classes may register through their physician's office or by contacting the education office directly at (501) 513-5248.
Medicare as well as most third party insurance providers cover a portion of the cost for this program. Diabetes education is provided to patients who have Medicaid as well. In order for insurance to cover any education cost, a physician referral is required. Any specific costs for patients depend upon insurance coverage.
